Due to I Spy being published by Scholastic, the educational nature the series, and Wick and Marzollo's dedication to education, there are plentiful merchandise and fliers exclusively given out to teachers (and sometimes parents). There was even an exclusive book, and a book club with activity kits based on I Spy books.
I Spy Student Edition[]
I Spy Student Edition is a promotional book released to schools that includes images from a few of the I Spy books as a sampler. It also originally came with a poster of "Arrival" from I Spy Treasure Hunt.
Teaching With Favorite I Spy Books[]
While not exclusive to schools, this book is sold primarily to the school market and includes activities based on all of the I Spy books, including the challenger books.
Book Club[]
Joan Novelli, the author of the Teaching With Favorite I Spy Books, also helped with a book club. Parents could order I Spy books that came with a parent guide, sometimes stickers, and an activity set based on the book. It is unclear how parents signed up for the club. We know that at least I Spy Mystery and I Spy: A Book of Picture Riddles were released in the book club.
